Fable Fortune has received outside funding, prompting the project to move from Kickstarter to Steam.
Fable CCG Kickstarter cancelled, heads to Steam Closed Beta
Between Hearthstone and Gwent, digital card games based on existing fantasy franchises are all the rage. Enter Fable Fortune, a collectible card game developed by former Lionhead developers set within the Fable universe. Sadly, crowdfunding efforts have failed to set Kickstarter on fire, prompting the campaign to be cancelled. The good news is Flaming Fowl Studios was able to secure outside funding, which means a closed beta is headed to Steam.
“With the immediate future of Fable Fortune now secure, we have taken the decision to end our Kickstarter campaign early to focus on releasing a Closed Beta build as quickly as possible,” a new Kickstarter update reads. “As we’ve always stated, we want to make this game with your help, your feedback and your input. We have huge plans for Fortune and we know that whatever happens in the future, it all started with our already incredible community.”
While the campaign has ended, Flaming Fowl will continue to support the Kickstarter alpha edition, even bringing new players over to the closed beta when it launches. New applicants can also apply to the closed beta here.
