Legend of Zelda Sheik spin-off a possibility

In an interview with GameRant, Legend of Zelda creator Shigeru Miyamoto said the development team on The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild had been tossing around the concept of a spin-off featuring Sheik as the protagonist.

“Within the development team, too, there have been talks about how it might be cool to have a game that features Sheik as a protagonist. It’s having maybe a Zelda spin-off with Sheik as a protagonist, for example, I don’t think that’s an impossibility.”

There was talk of making Zelda the protagonist of the new game at one point, so this would be a great idea to work on for a future title in the series.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is due for release in 2017 on the WiiU and Nintendo NX.
