I only ever play FIFA games when slightly sozzled and in the company of friends, so I have no ruddy idea if fans have been calling out for a narrative mode all these years. But regardless, they're getting it.

FIFA 17 introduces The Journey - the first ever story mode in a FIFA game.

Players will take the role of Alex Hunter, a rising star in the Premier League, all beautifully renered in the Frostbite engine. So get excited about that.

The Journey will feature Premier League managers in another first for the franchise, playing themselves, including Arsène Wenger and Jose Mourinho.

FIFA 17 will release globally on September 29 for PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One.
