APB Reloaded has soft launched on Xbox One, PS4 release coming a bit later

The developer announced in 2014 it would release the MMO on both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in mid-2015, if everything went according to plan.

This is considered a "Soft Launch" for the first 30 days on the market. The developer is asking that all current and former PC players try the game out on Xbox One in order to provide feedback for upcoming updates.

After the first post-launch patch for Xbox One is released, the developer expects the "complete launch of the PS4 version as well," with the release date still to be announced.

APB Reloaded is a free-to-play MMO and has one of the deepest character customization features out there. The video above provides an example.

The base game is free for all Xbox Live Gold members, but like all F2P MMOs, it makes use of microtransactions. In order to purchase addition services and in-game items, players will need to use the in-game currency G1C.

In-game items which can be purchased with G1C include weapons, armor, clothing, vehicles and more.

Price packages run similar to other free-MMOs, as the more in-game currency you purchase, the higher the price tag.

Guild Wars 2, for example, uses gems which can be purchased through the store interface and retailers. Gems will run you €10 for 800, all the way up €100 for 8,000 gems. The Lord of the Rings Online store sells Turbine points, and you can get 600 for $7.99 and 23,000 points for $199.99 at the max.

In APB, pricing is similar. At the lowest, 400 G1C will run you £3.99 and the highest is 20,800 G1C for £114.99.

You can find out more on APB through the Xbox Store, as well as through your Xbox One console.

A rather thorough developer blog as been posted, providing plenty of information on the game's console delay, the new engine, and what the console release means for PC players.
