No Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare on Xbox 360 and PS3

With the release of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare later this year, Activision will finally leave PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 behind.

Many Call of Duty fans thought this moment would come with Sledgehammer's Advanced Warfare, and later with Treyarch year's Black Ops 3, but that wasn't the case, even if the last-gen version of Black Ops 3 was very limited.

It seems the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One install base is finally big enough to sustain a Call of Duty game without any help from Xbox 360 and PS3. The official Twitter account for Infinity Ward confirmed this to a fan who asked the studio this earlier.

You'll notice Infinity Ward's answer didn't specifically mention Xbox 360, only PS3. With that said, it's very unlikely Infinity Ward's latest will see a release only on Microsoft's last-gen console.

Infinite Warfare is out November 4 on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
