Quantum Break is still so fresh it hasn't found the cafeteria, but fans of Alan Wake developer Remedy Entertainment are already looking for the next big thing.

It should come as no surprise to anyone passingly familiar with game development to learn that some members of Remedy are already hard at work on a new project - and indeed have been for some time. Scouring the CVs of various key Remedy members, Game Center Online found multiple references to whatever Remedy's next game is dating back several months.

Most notably, Quantum Break lead designer Kyle Rowley has been lead designer on an unannounced title for nine months; you can see this for yourself on LinkedIn. Again, this isn't surprising at all; in order to avoid lay-offs as projects wind up and down through production, developers are pretty much obligated to have several irons in the fire at once.

Of course, everybody wants it to be something new from the Alan Wake universe. Remedy has said on several occasions that it is keen to return to that dark world, and will do so when the time is right.

Don't hold your breath: Remedy take its time on new projects. Apart from a two year gap between Max Payne and its sequel, the developer has enjoyed length development cycles. Alan Wake released seven years after Max Payne 2, and while spin-off Alan Wake's American Nightmare released two years later, it was six years before its next major triple-A release - this month's Quantum Break.
