Dark Souls 3 launch trailer is excellent, but full of spoilers

Dark Souls 3 is out now. Stuck at your desk? Drive yourself crazy with this gorgeous trailer.

This Dark Souls 3 launch trailer gave me shivers. Clearly I am tragically fannish about the Souls games, but the music and atmosphere hit it right on the head, I reckon: the lone warrior trudging through a hopeless, monstrous world on a quest to do - what? You'll have to make up your own mind.

Unfortunately, it's definitely full of spoilers. No major plot points are revealed (if you're a Souls fan, you'll understand that it's usually pretty difficult to show plot spoilers), but there are loads of mid to late game locations, creatures and bosses. Given that one of the major draws of the Souls games is the amazing sights you see as you explore, even these little snippets of footage are potentially taking away from your experience. I don't think watching this will ruin your experience, but... well. You have been warned.

The song featured in the trailer is In The Woods Somewhere by Hozier, which is available in the two-disc deluxe version of the Irish artist's eponymous first studio album.

Compare and contrast with the Japanese Dark Souls 3 launch trailer, which was pretty much just the opening cinematic.
