One Muslim UFC fighter wasn’t happy his in-game celebration is a Christian gesture, but EA’s vowed to fix it.

One of the animations fighters play after winning a match in EA Sports UFC 2 is making a cross sign over their chest.

The animation is done by avatars randomly, but in the case of Khabib Nurmagomedov, a practicing Muslim UFC fighter, this gesture is not one he would make. Nurmagomedov took to Twitter to call out EA and ask the developers to remove it.

EA reached out to Nurmagomedov after, apologising for the error and promising to change it in an upcoming patch.

“Hello Khabib. Just wanted to reach out and let you know that we’ve seen your concern in regards to your after fight celebration,” reads the message.

“We’ve informed our development team about this issue and will change the celebration in our next update. Apologies if this has offended you in any way.”
