Star Wars: The Force Awakens director J.J. Abrams has confirmed that the stories are being written for movies based on Half-Life and Portal.

The producer of 10 Cloverfield Lane and Star Trek Into Darkness said in 2013 that he and Valve's Gabe Newell were interested in working together on game and movie projects.

Now, speaking with IGN, Abrams said "they're in development and we've got writers and we're working on both those stories."

Beyond that, Abrams said there was nothing else to update fans on.

It's worth noting that 10 Cloverfield Lane director Dan Trachtenberg released fan movie Portal: No Escape in 2011.
