Cyberpunk 2077 needs to be “better, bigger, more revolutionary," says CD Projekt boss

In a Q&A session following CD Projekt's financial release, company president Adam Kicinski and studio head Adam Badowski said the premiere of Cyberpunk 2077 was still "a long ways off."

According to the translation provided by DualShockers, The Witcher 3 set the bar rather high for the company; therefore, Badowski said Cyberpunk 2077 will have to be “even better, even bigger, and even more revolutionary" than previously planned.

Because of this, there is more work to do.

He went on to say Cyberpunk was a “huge game,” and hinted that it will be much larger in scale to The Witcher 3.

The company also wants to double in size by hiring more developers. At present there are close to 400 staffers, and Kicinski wants the number to grow to 800 or more and split into four teams. The company said previously, Cyberpunk had a "very sizable" team already assigned.

As previously reported, the studio has another triple-A game in the works set for release between 2017 and 2021.

Other projects such as the "new type of video game format previously unexplored by the studio" are also in the works, but the company isn't ready to discuss those yet.

CDP will talk more about Cyberpunk 2077 sometime next year.
