PlayStation TV is no longer shipping in Japan

The end might be in sight for Sony's PlayStation TV, which is no longer shipping in Japan.

The device, which allows you to play Vita games on your TV, or play PS4 games via remote play, has been discontinued in Japan, according to the official product page (which is, naturally, in Japanese).

No big announcement has been made about this, but it was spotted by a user on NeoGAF.

The PlayStation TV launched in Japan in November 2013, in the US in October 2014, and in Europe and Australia in November 2014. The device failed to really take off, partly because so many games just aren't compatible with it.

It's unclear what this means for the rest of the world, but the device is still available for purchase in other regions if you want to get your Vita games running on the big screen.
