Sony opens beta sign-ups for new PS4 firmware

A new PlayStation 4 firmware update is coming and it's seemingly big enough to warrant a call for public testing.

Sony has announced the next PlayStation 4 firmware will bring new features, and that it's looking for beta testers to sample it before it goes live for the rest of the public.

Sing-ups are open from today through this link, and the test is scheduled to take place early March. Selected users will receive an email with download instructions.

The platform holder confirmed that only a limited number of entries will be accepted, so don't wait too long.

Unfortunately, we don't know what new features the firmware will bring, or when we should expect it to release.
