id Software estimates a '13+ hour' Doom campaign

id Software seems confident that the new Doom will last players longer than most modern FPS campaigns.

This comes via a tweet from the official Doom Twitter account, responding to a question about the game's length.

Of course, this will vary for different players - and developers have a bit of a habit of inflating the stats a bit - but at the very least we're probably not looking at a one-afternoon-and-done affair.

The game will also feature numerous multiplayer modes, which are being developed in conjunction with FPS multiplayer specialists Certain Affinity.

Doom is due for release May 14, and is available for preorder now.
