Frozen Synapse 2 is an open world tactics title and out this year

Frozen Synapse 2 is in development, Mode 7 Games announced today.
The developer didn't say much in the pr mail other than it was slated for release this year on Linux, Mac and PC. Also, that it's an "open world tactics" title.
Mode 7 promised more would be revealed at a later date.
Until then, you can tide yourself over with the screenshot above, the for now bare bones website and this track from the game over on Soundcloud.
The first Frozen Synapse is on sale through Steam for 75% off.
There's also the developer's Frozen Endzone - known now as Frozen Cortex - available for 75% off as well.
