Dangerous Golf is the next game from the creators of Burnout and Black

"Dangerous Golf is as serious a golf game as Burnout was a serious simulation to driving games," says Alex Ward.

Three Fields Entertainment, the team made up of former Criterion veterans, have announced its first project. As promised, it's a twist on a certain sport.

It's called Dangerous Golf and Three Fields promises an irreverent and arcady take on golf with a focus on fast action, social multiplayer, and breaking the rules.

Gameplay is turn-based and the goal is to rack up points by destroying the environment, supporting both online and offline multiplayer for up to eight players. Creative director Alex Ward said the team wanted it to have the attitude of Burnout and the destruction of Black.

Dangerous Golf features over 100 holes across four distinct locations in a rural gas station, a hotel kitchen, a palace ballroom, and a medieval castle.

The game is built on Unreal Engine 4 and utilises Nvidia's PhysX, Apex Destruction and Flex tech. Naturally, gameplay relies a lot on physics, even down to physically-simulated liquids.

"Dangerous Golf is as serious a golf game as Burnout was a serious simulation to driving games," added Ward.

Dangerous Golf is out this May for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
