Cheap Ass Gamer, a prime destination for video game deals, was recently hacked and defaced.

Cheap Ass Gamer, a video game deals website that’s been around for years, was hacked in the last 48 hours. The site’s homepage was defaced, with the top header displaying a “why are you here?” message.

Strangely, the homepage later displayed personal details of a person the hackers claim is a child molester. Here’s what it used to show, as captured by NeoGAF.

The site has since been taken offline and now displays the following message: “We’re making some essential improvements to the site, and hope to have everything up and running by 10am PST/1pm EST. Thanks for your patience!”

It’s unclear at this time what user details, if any, were compromised. We’ll update the story when more information is released.

Sometimes we include links to online retail stores. If you click on one and make a purchase we may receive a small commission. Read our policy.
