Last week's rumor regarding amiibo functionality in The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD has been confirmed in the latest issue of Famitsu.

According to the magazine, the Wolf Link amiibo can be tapped during certain points in the game to unlock a new dungeon translated as "Thorough Battle: Trial of the Beast". It wasn't made clear if this the Hero Mode mentioned in last week's leak from Amazon France.

Per Nintendo Everything, (via Hokanko-alt) upon clearing the dungeon players will be rewarded with a wallet which can hold up to 9,999 Rupee.

It was also confirmed that players will be able to use the Wolf Link amiio to import certain data from Twilight Princess HD into the new Zelda game.

Other amiibo will recover items in the game:Link and Toon Link will recover arrows; Zelda and Sheik recover hearts. The Ganondorf amiibo will cause double damage to enemies. So he's useful this time out instead of being a jerk. Nice to know.

The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD releases for Wii U on March 14.

The Wolf Link amiibo is included in the limited edition and will run you £44.99 in the UK and $59.99 in the US.
