Video games raised $46M on Kickstarter in 2015

Kickstarter must have made a tidy sum on gaming campaigns last year.

480,382 backers Kickstarter backers pledged $46,177,705 to video game campaigns in 2015.

Video games make up just one part of the broader games category, which pulled in a whopping $144,407,094 in total from 978,189 backers.

These latter figures are well up year on year, nearly doubling 2014's totals, Kickstarter said.

7,466 campaigns launched across the whole games section with aa=bout a 30% success rate. 374 video game campaigns were fully funded.

Shenmue 3 was the most-backed video game project with $6.3 million raised, beating out Bloodstained's $5.5 million.
