Assassin’s Creed fans will have a field day putting these images under the microscope for clues.
Three stills from the upcoming Assassin’s Creed movie have arrived to whet our appetites.
The photos were released over the holiday break, while we were variously sleeping, eating too much and wrangling hyperactive children, but were republished by the Ubisoft Blog today.
You can see Michael Fassbender as both of his characters – the modern day Callum Lynch and 15th-century Spanish ancestor Aquilar. Co-star Ariane Labed is shown in her assassin guise, too.
Most importantly, what’s all that stuff on the wall behind Fassbender in the second shot? Let’s zoom right in and see if we can’t find some nods to the extended canon.
This is our first proper look at how Ubisoft’s assassins will be rendered in-film, after tantalisingly distant set photos crept out late last year.
The Assassin’s Creed movie hits cinemas in December. I’m looking forward to it, even knowing that video game movies are very hit and miss, and having been really disappointed by Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time.
