Here's a video of the PlayStation 4 running a hacked version of Pokemon via a customised Linux operating system.

The PlayStation 4 has been hacked by fail0verflow, a group of hackers who have already made the customised version of Linux publicly available.

fail0verflow were the group responsible for cracking open the PlayStation 3 back in January 2011.

According to Digital Foundry the hackers are not releasing the exploit that allows low-level access to the hardware, as "PS4 security is crappy enough that you don't need us for that."

Expect more hacking groups to attempt to exploit the system in the coming months, and a response from Sony, in what could become a long-running to-and-fro over the course of the year.
