Halo World Championship kicks off December 6, prize pool hits $1.7M

The Halo 5: Guardians World Championship prize pool has hit $1.7 million and continues to grow.

Xbox and 343 Industries originally announced a starting prize pool of $1 million with funds added via crowd-funding through sales of Requisition System (REQ System) packs.

The Halo World Championship consists of both online and in-person events taking place in the US, Canada, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Greater Asia, Latin America, Australia and New Zealand.

Here's the schedule:

  • December 6 – Online Ladders Begin
  • December 19 - January 31 – Online Qualifiers and Regional In-Person Live Events
  • January 23 - February 21 – Regional Finals across North America, Europe, Latin America and Asia/Australia/New Zealand
  • March 1 - March 20 – Halo World Championship Prelims and Finals
