BattleTech Kickstarter now in final 24 hours

BattleTech is going to happen.

battletech

The BattleTech Kickstarter campaign is winding down, having hit its $250,000 goal on launch day.

With $2.5 million in its coffers, the campaign has pulled ten times its goal and locked down every single stretch goal so far.

Over 37,000 people have pledged to support the turn-based tactical mech combat game, which isn't terribly surprising. Not only is the property a firm favourite, this latest version comes to us from Harebrained Schemes, which has twice proven it can deliver on a Kickstarter campaign with Shadowrun Returns and its first expansion.

If you're not au fait with BattleTech, you should be warned: it's a bit of a rabbit hole. The MechWarrior series was spun off from it, and is really only the beginning of a sprawling franchise encompassing tabletop games, over 100 books, numerous video games and even a cartoon series.

If you're keen on the new project, check out the various rewards on offer on the Kickstarter page.
