Afro Samurai creator lends unique visual style to gorgeous new beat-em-up

Furi is a new indie beat-em-up for PS4 with an amazing visual style and unique-sounding gameplay.

The gorgeous art style you see in the trailer below comes courtesy of Afro Samurai creator Takashi Okazaki, which certainly explains a lot. Good looks aren't all there is to Furi, though.

Writing on the PlayStation Blog, The Game Bakers founder Emeric Thoa said the core idea of the game is one long boss fight against an opponent with similar moves to your own.

Combining bullet hell shooting and evasion (how very Nier!) with sword vs sword duelling, Furi has players progressing from one boss fight to the next as they move towards their goal, piecing the story together as they do. It's launching in 2016, which seems all too far away at this precise moment.
