80% of PS4 owners never played an Uncharted game before, says Naughty Dog

Naughty Dog expects The Uncharted Collection to do very well, much of that is largely due to the same reason why The Last of Us Remastered did so well.

Sony has always said there's a good number of PlayStation 4 owners who've not owned a PS3, and another subset that started console gaming with PS4. This was the reason the company gave for remastering The Last of Us on the new hardware, and it's the same one it's used when considering remastering the Uncharted games.

"We did a lot of research and discovered that about 80 percent of the people that own a PS4 have never played Uncharted, period," Naughty Dog's Eric Monacelli told MCVUK. "That was one of the reasons why we thought remastering it would be a good idea."

As such, the developer expects Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection to do just as well as The Last of Us Remastered, when it comes to sales.

Monacelli added that being able to go back to the Uncharted games was another reason they wanted to do the remaster.
