Sony would "like to see" a sequel to The Last of Us as much as everyone else

People want The Last of Us 2. Even Nolan North, apparently, and Sony Worldwide boss Shuhei Yoshida is in the same camp.

Speaking with Eurogamer during EGX 2015, Yoshida said there wan nothing to announce at this time, but Naughty Dog has been hashing out potential ideas.

"I asked [community strategist Arne Meyer] that question last night over dinner. We haven't confirmed The Last of Us 2, but ever since the launch of the first game, people like [creative director Neil Druckmann] are talking about some ideas for a potential sequel, some experiments that they want to do," said Yoshida.

At present, there are only "talks around development" but Yoshida said Sony would "like to see" how the potential story would develop, along with a look at the "life these characters have after what happened in The Last of Us."

This confirms comments made by Druckmann earlier this month, when he told Official PlayStation Magazine the team was "brainstorming ideas for The Last Of Us 2."

He even hinted at the possibility of new characters and that a prototype was in the works before the team shifted focus to Uncharted 4.

Then again, there were several prototypes in the works on several possible projects.

In the meantime, there's at least Uncharted 4 to look forward to next year.
