There will be two U2 songs in Rock Band 4

Rock Band 4 will feature U2. Your reception of this news may vary.

A Rock Band 4 segment on USA Today has revealed the surprise setlist inclusion.

U2 was not named when Harmonix revealed the "full" setlist a few weeks ago, but in the video below lead designer Matthew Nordhaus said there are two U2 songs on-disc and "a couple" more to come as DLC "sometime this year".

Except for I Will Follow, which you can hear playing at one point, there's no word on which songs to expect - unless someone can identify the other track playing during the segment.

This isn't U2's first music game appearance, but it's still kind of a big deal. For many people U2 is pretty much "that band who put their album on my iPhone and I didn't want it" but the Irish group has shifted over 170 million albums globally to become one of the best-selling music acts ever.

Rock Band 4 launches on PS4 and Xbox One on October 6.
