If you want to upgrade to the new 3DS in the US, but don't want the XL model, you're in luck.

The smaller system, previously not available in the US, will launch as part of a bundle focused on Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer. The bundle will include the game, two customisable cover plates, and an Animal Crossing Amiibo card. This pack will retail for $220, and will coincide with the launch of the new Animal Crossing spin-off.

The new 3DS XL was first released in the US on February 13 of this year. The system comes with extra shoulder buttons, a second analogue nub, improved 3D visuals, and just enough extra processing power to ensure that a handful of games going forward will be exclusive to the new systems.

It also has a built-in NFC reader, which will allow Animal Crossing fans to use the series' Amiibos and Amiibo cards in Happy Home Designer.
