Rare Destiny demo glitch enabling PS4 players to continue past level cap

It appears the Destiny demo on PlayStation 4 has a glitch.

According to some PlayStation 4 players on both reddit, Facebook and Twitter, the demo is allowing some players to level their character past level 7 cap. This has apparently been going on for quite a while now, according to the thread on reddit.

It is a rare demo glitch, from what we understand, so it may work for you and it may not, but some players report being able to load their higher level characters in and participate in Strikes and Crucible matches. This could mean players with the demo installed who own the game on disc may no longer have to have the disc in, according to one user on the reddit thread.

There are numerous players reporting this on Twitter as well, so we’re unsure at present if Bungie has opened the demo up for PS4 players in anticipation of The Taken King. VG247 can;t replicate the glitch, so again, it seems to be a rare occurrence.

However, the glitch was also noticed over six months ago on Game FAQs, with one player reporting being able to reach level 9.

We’ll keep an eye on this and let you know if it has indeed been opened up or if it is just a glitch as player are reporting.

Destiny: The Taken King is out on September 15.
