It’s possible Blizzard could one day revisit its high fantasy, real-time strategy series Warcraft.
Speaking with IGN during gamescom 2015 earlier this month, StarCraft 2: Legacy of the Void producer Tim Morten said once the team is finished with the StarCraft 2 expansion, there will be discussions on what to work on next.
“It’s very rewarding for us to hear that there’s demand out there for more RTS content in the Warcraft universe,” he said. “There’s no question, though, that we’ll consider Warcraft, StarCraft, or even new ideas. Anything is possible [but] we don’t have any specific plans.”
Morten went on assure fans Legacy of the Void isn’t “the end of StarCraft” as the universe has plenty of potential stories to be told in the future.
As for Warcraft, fans will have to remain content with the Infernal Shrines update for Heroes of the Storm which includes Warcraft’s half-orc beastmaster Rexxar his pet bear Misha.
There’s also the next expansion to World of Warcraft, Legion, which will feature Warcraft 3’s The Broken Isles as the new content’s main setting.
