New Need for Speed screenshot looks like real-life

Ghost Games' Need for Speed engine produces images that are so close to real-life, they're hard to distinguish.

The upcoming Need for Speed's recent showings looked nothing short of incredible in both the reveal trailer and its gameplay demo. If it looks this good in motion, imagine what it would look like in screenshots.

Developer Ghost Games did not release an in-game screenshot today. They did however render a scene in-engine and put it side-by-side with a real-life photo to show off how good the game looks.

"Our aim with this process was to make use of the Physically Based Rendering (PBR) capabilities of our Frostbite engine to create accurate real-world materials, surfaces and lighting to reach a life-like visual image," Bryn Alban, the game's vehicle art director, said.
