Nokia jumps onto the VR bandwagon

It's rumoured that Nokia will be unveiling a "major" VR project next week at their VIP event in Los Angeles.

According to recode, Nokia's mysterious VIP event will be the stage for their announcement of a "major virtual reality project".

The event is taking place on July 28, but no details have been released on what will be presented.

Despite declining to comment when contacted by recode, Nokia CEO Rajeev Suri was reported to have discussed “immersive imaging” at a shareholder meeting, in relation to the areas that the company were looking to expand into.

With Project Morpheus, Oculus Rift and Vive already on the way, is there going to be room for another VR product to carve out its own niche for success?

Either way, we'll have an answer next week.
