Uncharted movie loses director, again

The Uncharted movie has extended its stay in production limbo.

Seth Gordon, the most recent director to be attached to Sony Pictures' Uncharted movie, has exited the project. According to a report by The Warp, Tom Rothman - who took over chairman duties from departed Amy Pascal, has taken the project into a new creative director, which prompted the split.

However, another report by Heroic Hollywood says Rothman has decided to do the movie on a smaller budget. More like Resident Evil and less like Indiana Jones, in terms of budgets.

The last time we heard anything about the project was around the time Sony Pictures was hacked and email conversations between company executives were leaked. Back then, the script was being looked at as a "more intense" version of National Treasure and Gordon was attached to direct.

The film carried a June 2016 release date, which is very unlikely now.
