Killer Instinct is free-to-play but you can buy into "seasons" of updates. The latest batch, Season 2, kicked off back in October 2014 and has been producing new characters on the regular ever since.
The season is winding to a halt now, and will end with one last bang. The final update will bring a number of new features, which are detailed in the video below. It's definitely worth taking a look at what you've missed if you haven't checked in since launch - including Shadow Jago, who is currently exclusive to those who grabbed limited time offers.
