As announced during EA’s E3 2015 presentation, NBA Live 16 will feature a companion app with GameFaceHD scanning tech which puts the user’s face in the game.
The mobile face scan app is just the start as EA Sports also promised “unparalleled control and best-in-class animation,” thanks to working the past two years on the game’s physics-based player movement system called LIVEMotion.
Thousands of new animations were created using this motion capture system and run-time physics for “contextual free-flowing movement.”
This means no more feeling of being stuck in scripted animation, as the passing and catching systems have been rebuilt with new options to move the ball around the perimeter.
Players can also choose whether the screener rolls, pops, or slips and how to defend it by showing, trapping the ball or switching.
A new shot system is also in place, that allows the player to release the ball when they wish. They can hold the button longer to release later, and the control extends to any shot from anywhere on the court.
More game modes will be revealed for NBA Live 16 this summer before it releases September 29 on PS4 and Xbox One.
