Elite: Dangerous players are getting Steam keys from May 28

Frontier Developments has announced Elite: Dangerous players will be handed Steam keys for the game later this month.

The developer is also working with Valve on a feature which will enable players to connect their existing Frontier accounts with Steam.

"We’ll soon be offering Steam keys to anyone who bought Elite: Dangerous from the EliteDangerous.com store who would like a key, and to anyone who buys the game from our store in the future," reads the post on the forums.

"We always appreciate it when you buy direct from our store because it means we can put more into supporting and developing Elite: Dangerous, but we know a number of long-time players and backers like to play through Steam and we think it’s fair everyone has that option, not just new players."

From May 28, backers and purchasers of the game will be able to grab a Steam key from their account page. Full instructions will be posted on the forums before the aforementioned date.

Elite: Dangerous was made available for purchase on Steam in April.

Thanks, Blue.
