Wasteland 2: Game of the Year Edition coming this summer as a free upgrade to owners

A Game of the Year Edition has been announced for Wasteland 2, and it will be a free upgrade for those who already own the game.

The GOTY edition is an expanded update which includes "a host of improvements" such as the previously announced engine upgrade to Unity 5.

These upgrades include improved environment textures, character models, and lighting. New voice-over have also been recorded and new Perks & Quirks have been added for more character customization options - each with its own unique bonus and trade-off.

“We wanted to re-affirm our gratitude to our backers and our dedication to RPG fans, as we have been most fortunate to return to our roots,” said inXile Entertainment CEO Brian Fargo in the press release.

Wasteland 2: Game of the Year Edition will be released in late summer for all owners and crowdfuning backers on PC, Mac, and Linux platforms.
