Battlefield Hardline: 80% of copies were sold on PS4 and Xbox One

Despite being a cross-gen game, Battlefield Hardline made the majority of its sales on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

During EA's earnings call last night, the publisher relayed expectations of the PS4 and Xbox One install base growing to reach 50 million. Part of that optimism is due to how well newer titles did on these machines.

The publisher noted Battlefield Hardline as an example. The game came out on PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One, but actually sold the most on PS4 and Xbox One.

"Illustrating how far the transition has already come, approximately four out of every five copies of Battlefield Hardline sold for consoles that were either Xbox One or PlayStation 4," said EA CFO Blake Jorgensen.

EA said that overall, it's "very happy" with how well the game sold.
