Deus Ex devs take the piss out of Black Ops 3
Deus Ex developers have been having a bit of a laugh at the expense of Call of Duty’s official Twitter account.
You would be forgiven to think that yesterday’s Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 ‘Ember’ teaser was part of an ad campaign for a Deus Ex game, with all the biohacking, wearable tech, augmentation, and the “how far can humanity go” futuristic vibes.
Whoever runs the official Deus Ex Twitter account seems to agree. The developers responded to the trailer and to Call of Duty’s tweet with this funny cat meme.

Mankind Divided’s art director Jonathan Jacques-Belletête wanted to add a bit more to it.

Of course it would be moronic to assume that Deus Ex was the first game to feature cyber-terrorism and futuristic themes, but the jab is nonetheless funny and was frankly unexpected in this age of tight, scripted ad campaigns.
Uncalled for or marketing genius? Watch the Black Ops 3 teaser and decide for yourself.
