Rock Band 4 will be co-published at retail by Mad Catz, according to the peripheral maker.
Speaking in a post on the company blog, spokesperson Alex Verrey said Mad Catz would be in charge of distributing and promoting the game as well, with Harmonix handling digital download content and sales.
“Co-publishing the game allows us to work closer than ever before with Harmonix, delivering a seamless experience from game through hardware and ensuring that we focus on the needs of the gamer first and foremost,” wrote Verrey (via Eurogamer).
Mad Catz is developing optional wireless controllers for Rock Band 4, which includes bass, drums guitars and microphones. Previous controllers will be backwards compatible within the same family of systems.
Rock Band 4 will be released later this year on PS4 and Xbox One.
