Major League gaming has had a very strong first quarter.
MLG is one of our most important yardsticks for eSports and streaming in the west, and so it’s great to see the company report some very positive figures from its first financial quarter.
In a press release, the organisation said viewership grew 253% year-on-year in the first quarter – and ad revenue increased 482%.
“MLG.tv now has a 70% quarterly growth rate and in the first 90 days of 2015 has already surpassed the number of hours viewed for the prior two quarters – from July through December 2014,” the company said.
2,600 brands have signed on to advertise with MLG, which the company attributes to expansion onto mobile and OTTV devices.
Further growth is expected, as MLG intends to build on the already substantial broadcast schedule of over 1,000 hours it delivered last year.
