Postal barred from Google Play for "gratuitous violence"

Google has rejected the notorious Postal as not meeting its standards regarding violent content.

Postal will still be coming to Android, but not through Google Play, developer Running with Scissors said on its forums.

"Unfortunately it appears Postal has been rejected from Google Play due to it containing 'gratuitous violence'. Sadly this means it won't be welcomed alongside the Grand Theft Auto series, Carmageddon and horde of Zombie games on Google Play," the developer said.

"While this is disappointing for us, it won't stop you from being able to play Postal on your favourite Android device. We are looking into Humble Store, Amazon and other Android App stores. We will let you know when the time comes where you can pick up your Android copy of Postal."

Postal is an isometric shooters with very little plot and few features. It achieved fame mostly by being unashamedly über-violent. A first-person sequel was produced, and Uwe Boll made a film based on the property.
