The world map for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is a rather large one

When CD Projekt RED said The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt would contain a huge open-world 30 times the size of The Witcher 2, it wasn't joking.

Just look at that map.

It certainly puts the earlier leaks of the world map into perspective, and it does indeed appear to have a larger open-world than Skyrim, as the developers claim.

It was announced over the weekend that the game would contain islands which could be sailed to or swam to, and you can see those in the map above - and completionists could spend around 200 hours in the game.

For comparison, the maps for both The Witcher 2 and Skyrim are below.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will be released in May on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Thanks, wotta.
