Super Mario 64 HD project receives takedown notice from Nintendo

Nintendo has issued a takedown notice for Unity-developed Super Mario 64 HD, the fan project which created an updated version of the first level of the game and allowed users to play it in their browser.

It was also downloadable, with no attempts from creator Roystan Ross to monetize the project. Still, the news shouldn't come as a shock to anyone that Nintendo's legal department sent a notice.

At present the tech demo can still be downloaded via Ross's blog, but likely not for long.
