EA has posted a blog entry explaining its FIFA Ultimate Team transfer market price ranges which now include platform-specific pricing in order to best the coin sellers.
EA said it has implemented the changes to FUT over the last several weeks because it should be “fair and fun for every player,” ultimately coming to the decision that the Transfer Market no longer needs to be accessible via the web or through the Companion App.
“We want to keep the game fair and secure for everyone, and ensure a level playing field for all FUT fans,” said the firm on its blog. “To accomplish this we have to root out the activities of coin farmers and cheaters who are harming your experience with the game.
“Since implementing these changes, we’re seeing positive signs of restoring balance to the FUT economy and mitigating some of the negative effects of exploitation within the game.”
Those who exploit system using bots and phishing scams generate coins which flood the FUT economy. The fake in-game currency the drives up the cost of players on the Transfer Market, damaging the economy and making top players unattainable for the vast majority of players.
EA explained the actions it is taking and said it is considering including new changes to Price Ranges, as well as the status of the web and Companion Apps.
One of the actions taken was a change to Price Ranges which it said helps “restrict illegitimate coin transfers on the FUT Transfer Market.” It also balances player item prices to better reflect the current marketplace.
EA said finding the “right balance will take some time, but we have a team dedicated to finding that balance.”
Another change which the firm says will provide better trading balance and fairness is varying Price Ranges per platform which “reflect the values and dynamics in those unique economies.”
Access to the Transfer Market via the web and Companion Apps has been pulled since the February 13 update as the Apps became “one of the main methods for coin sellers and farmers” to move counterfeit coins through the FUT economy.
The Transfer Market will be brought back into the Apps and online, but only once the team as made a more stable and safe experience.
EA provided a list on the price differences between the PC, PS4 and Xbox One Transfer Markets in the blog post. If you are a FIFA player, you should really give it a look. There is also a Q&A available.
FUT is in its sixth year and those who play are being handed one free pack every day, and is offering players a chance at receiving tradable In-Forms just for playing in the FUT Birthday Cup one time – or morr.
