A new Danganronpa is happening.
Danganronpa 3 is in the very, very early production stages, writer Kodaka Kazutaka has confirmed.
Nothing about the project is “set in stone”, Kazutaka told Polygon, so there are no details to share yet; the characters and story may change several times before being finalised.
The writer said he’s weighing up fan demands, which are equally split between camps wanting a similar story and those asking for a “bigger” plot.
In both main Danganronpa games to date, the player takes on the role of a high school student in a nightmare scenario: the only way to escape the trap is to kill someone and get away with it.
An extra spin-off game, Danganronpa Another Episode: Ultra Despair Girls, is an interquel game with more action elements, and was recently confirmed for western release.
