That Metal Gear Rising 2 logo was for the second anniversary of the original

Metal Gear Rising developer Platinum Games has confirmed, once and for all, that the "2" logo we saw during Sony's presentation at Taipei Game Show was definitely not for a sequel.

Platinum posted this on Twitter earlier.

The illustrations were made by artist Yong-Hee Cho to celebrate the second anniversary of the game, and not to announce a sequel. How this ended up in Sony's showereel at the Taipei Game Show is anyone's guess.

We had already lost hope in this being an actual sequel when Kojima Productions said it wasn't, but now all hope is dead. Well, at least we have two cool new illustrations.
