PC version of Resident Evil: Revelations 2 does not support offline co-op [Update]

Players who bought the PC version of Resident Evil: Revelations 2 have realised that the game doesn't support offline co-op.

Unlike the console versions, the PC version of Resident Evil: Revelations 2 can only be played in single player, with no offline co-op option.

Capcom has not revealed this prior to launch. Instead, users on NeoGAF and other forums noticed it on the game's Steam page.

The page lists offline co-op as one of the main bullet-points. "Assistive co-op play – Players will need to switch between the two characters (Claire/Moira, Barry/Natalia) to overcome the nightmares in either single player mode with an AI partner or offline co-op," reads the page.

If you scroll to the bottom however, you will see this new line "The PC version does not support offline co-op play in the Campaign or Raid Mode," effectively nullifying the listed feature above.

There are multiple threads on the Steam forums filled with users asking how to activate local co-op, only to realise later that it's not actually there.

We've sent Capcom an email and we'll update the story when we hear back.

Update: Capcom has responded with the following comment, "The PC version of Resident Evil Revelations 2 supports a variety of customizable visual settings and resolutions.

"The decision to prioritize a single local screen was made to ensure a stable user experience across a variety of different PC settings and devices. Raid mode will support online co-op shortly after launch when a free patch is available for players to download which adds this feature, but the main campaign on PC will only be available to play in single local screen."
