Even development staff think The Stomping Land is dead

The Stomping Land seems to have ground to a halt for good.

Backers of The Stomping Land have been deeply disappointed by the game's lack of progress and the silence of its main developer, Alex "Jig" Fundora.

Apparently confirming our worst fears, the dinosaur hunting project has lost one of its key developers, who says Fundora is no longer in communication with staff.

PC Gamer reports modeler Vlad Konstantinov has left the project to take a role on Beasts of Prey.

According to Konstantinov himself, as of January it had been five months since he'd heard from Fundora, and he'd had to pay development costs out of his own pocket in the interim.

So it looks suspiciously like Fundora has dropped the project and vanished, and unfortunately there's unlikely to be any consequence; Kickstarter has said it can't do anything to address backer concerns.

Last time the project went silent Valve pulled The Stomping Land from sale, but it's currently available through Steam Early Access. We don't recommend buying in, obviously.
