Terraria developer re-Logic Games has teamed up with Engine Software to produce an all new game combining the original crafting and terraforming experience with RPG and strategy elements.

Called Terraria Otherworld, the new title puts players in a fantasy world which has been corrupted by some sort of unseen evil, and tasks them with fighting back.

The project is in the works for Mac and PC with PS4 and Xbox One versions on the cards but not yet confirmed. Take a look at the pre-alpha footage below:

According to a blog post on the Terraria website, this is not Terraria 2, which has been on the cards since late 2013. Additionally, work on Otherworld is not expected to interfere with ongoing development of Terraria, including the 1.3 patch.
