A new addition with Defenders is Protector Mode where players will be tasked with defending the remaining human colonies. It contains the new planet flip mechanic along with environmental hazards such as volcanic meteors.

Commando mode has players taking on the role of the Last Human who is stranded on a planet with only a mini-gun, which must be used to fight the Sentients. Described as an "arcade revenge mode," players will need to defend themselves and their home from waves of enemies, volcanic meteors and other dangers. It supports both co-operative and the competitive multiplayer feature Battle mode.

Also of note, Resogun Challengers, is the latest content update which is launching today for all players, and provides a new leveling opportunity by earning Challenge Points as a reward for completing new challenges and Feats across all existing game modes.

It also contains a new Human Gallery to organize and select collected Human types as well as Photo Mode which allows the player to pause the action and capture screenshot.

New trophies are included in the new Challenge mode.

Defenders is the final expansion for the game, and the Challengers update is available free of charge.

Resogun Defenders releases in North America on February 17 and February 18 in Europe. The pack will be available for €4.99/£3.99 and is free of charge to all existing season pass owners.

For those who do not own Resogun already, the game is 35% off for the next two weeks.
